CCPS Appoints Supervisor of Elementary and Secondary Social Studies

Calvert County Public Schools’ (CCPS) Board of Education (BOE) approved the appointment of Ms. Nicole Penix as Supervisor of Elementary and Secondary Social Studies at the November 14 meeting.

Ms. Penix is currently the Learning Specialist for Social Studies (K-12). Before this role, she served as a middle school teacher at Plum Point Middle School. Additionally, Ms. Penix has taken on roles as a coach and sponsor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History – Secondary Education from Goucher College and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership in Teaching: Administration and Supervision from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Ms. Penix has served in leadership roles such as Program Coordinator of RISE Deliberative Cohort, Chair of CCPS Elementary Social Studies Advisory Council., Co-Host for MSDE’s Social Studies Learning Lab, Co-Coordinaor of the CCPS History Fair and has facilitated several book studies.
